~Plot~





Der ffcr Terroristen arbeitende Bf6rsenspekulant Le Chiffre ist gezwungen, in der Spielbank Casino Royale in Montenegro um einen hohen Geldbetrag zu spielen, um ffcr seine Organisation verlorenes Geld seiner Kunden zurfcckzugewinnen. Er verlor dieses Geld in Folge eines misslungenen Terroranschlages mit gleichzeitiger Bf6rsenspekulation. Als der MI6 davon erfe4hrt, wird Bond beauftragt, seinen Plan zu vereiteln. Hilfe erhe4lt Bond von Vesper Lynd, einer Mitarbeiterin des Schatzamtes, mit der er ein intimes Verhe4ltnis eingeht.


Bond gewinnt ein Poker(Texas-Holdem)-Turnier in Montenegro, mit dem Le Chiffre das Geld auftreiben wollte endash zwischendurch ist er nur knapp dem Tode durch eine Vergiftung entronnen, welche von Le Chiffre veranlasst wurde. Als Vergeltung wird Vesper vor Bonds Augen von Le Chiffre entffchrt. Es beginnt eine halsbrecherische Verfolgungsjagd, bei der Bond die Kontrolle fcber seinen Wagen verliert, als er der auf die Stradfe gelegten, gefesselten Vesper Lynd auszuweichen versucht. Der Wagen fcberschle4gt sich, Bond verliert sein Bewusstsein.
