Arsène Lupin III (????? ,Rupan Sansei?) is the grandson of Arsène Lupin. He is the world's most wanted thief. Often in his adventures, he takes it upon himself and his gang to foil other criminals engaged in more serious crimes. He sometimes appears incompetent, but mostly as a charade to catch his opponents off guard. While he has been arrested and thrown in jail on a number of occasions, he has always managed to break out. He also has a fondness for fancy gadgets from time to time, such as in Castle of Cagliostro where his belt features many small gadgets. His infatuation with women, and Fujiko Mine in particular, is perhaps his biggest weakness, as it often lands him in undesirable situations.

Arsenio Lupin III (?????, Rupan Sansei?) è un ladro dalle innumerevoli e incredibili abilità, ricercato dalla polizia di tutto il mondo. È agile, dal fisico asciutto, maestro nei travestimenti e in grado di ideare furti geniali. Non scampa, però, all'impressione di stupidità che spesso trasmette a chi non lo conosce. Soprattutto quando si trova davanti una bella ragazza, ed immancabilmente sbava e perde la testa. Lupin sembrerebbe nato in Giappone, avrebbe tra i suoi antenati un umile contadino; ma lui stesso afferma di "aver ricevuto il primo bagno nelle acque gelide della Senna". Del resto suo nonno era francese, ed ha istituito il premio più ambito dai ladri del globo, il "Lupin d'oro", che, manco a dirlo, è sempre suo nipote a vincere. Lupin è allergico al polpo, la sua pistola è una Walther P38 che sa maneggiare con un'abilità inferiore solo a quella di Jigen, inoltre guida di solito una Mercedes-Benz SSK del 1928 modificata (sembra che Lupin ci abbia fatto montare un motore Ferrari[2]) o la sua variante ancora più sportiva, la SSKL (dove L sta per light, leggero). La SSK pare sia appartenuta anche ad Adolf Hitler, ed era in grado di raggiungere i 300 km/h. Ma spesso è al volante anche di una scattante Fiat 500. Nel manga Lupin III Y usa una Walther P99
