Le dimanche 14 novembre 1965, à 10h48, au Viêt-nam, le lieutenant-colonel Harold C. Moore, instructeur à Fort Benning, et 400 soldats américains sont parachutés sur la zone dit d'X-Ray, dans la vallée de Ia Drang.
