Based on a novel by John O'Farrell, it was promising enough comic territory: over-protective yummy mummies in a gated community in London battling over places in a private school for their hot-housed offspring.





The Chaplin family moved into their nice safe, new neighbourhood, ruled over by the tyrannical Ffion, whose surplus of fs was an unsubtle sign of her dedication to being an effing pain in the nether regions. Read the complete review at the NZ Herald link above.





Desperate to keep up with the Joneses and get their daughter into an exclusive school, mum Molly decided to masquerade as an 11-year-old to take the entrance exam for her not very bright daughter. Complications inevitably ensued, in the form of Ruby, a bright black kid from the nearby council estate.
