Guru Josh est l'un des noms de scène de Paul Walden, Britannique né le 6 juin 1964, qui réside actuellement à Ibiza.
En 1989 il sort (sous le nom de scène Guru Josh) son premier single d'acid house, Infinity (Infini), avec "Mad Mick" au saxophone, sur le white label Infinity (de la rave du même nom), avec en face B, Time For The Guru, tiré à seulement 1000 exemplaires. La plupart des DJs a qui il fut distribué n'aimaient pas à cause du saxo, mais Mike Pickering, DJ à l'Haçienda en fera l'hymne des clubs de Manchester. En 2007, il forme Guru Josh Project avec les deux producteurs Darren Bailie et "Snakebyte" (Anders Nyman) et signent sur le label de Frankfort en Allemagne Big City Beats. Le 3 novembre 2008 est sorti le single Infinity 2008, remix signé "DJ Klaas" (Klaas Gerling, un allemand) du single original sorti en 1989, s'est classée directement en tête du Top 50 en novembre 2008 en France. Le clip figure la playmate allemande Janina Wissler (miss septembre 2005 de Playboy Allemagne) et Guru Josh mixant en live à la "Comeback Party" au Cocoon Club en mars 2008.
