Murder City is a British police drama that centers on two mismatched detectives who scour London solving complex cases. Murder City premiered on March 18, 2004 on the ITV Network at 9pm



In a busy inner city murder squad, tough and methodical Detective Susan Alembic is teamed up with unorthodox Luke Stone to unlock diabolical mysteries and track down relentless killers. Working closely with the rest of the squad, their investigations bring them face to face with tormented pasts, grim secrets and deadly deceptions as they follow up grisly discoveries and frequently put their own lives in jeopardy.





Cast



Amanda Donohoe plays the main character Detective Inspector Susan Alembic, who is perhaps the most talented DI in her department. She has been partnered up with inexperienced detective Luke Stone. Luke also provides some comic relief in the series.



Kris Marshall plays DS Luke Stone, partner of DI Susan Alembic, who is seen as an inexperienced detective in the eyes of his peers. DI Adrian Dumfries and DCI Sebastian Turner often if not always see him as an incompetent detective. However, he shows competence in every episode, coming up with some outrageous and, at times, iron-clad theories as to how a crime took place.



Amber Agar plays Dr. Annie Parvez, a coroner who works in the same department as Susan and Luke. Annie often shows that she is attracted to Luke and still holds a grudge against him when he did not call her after a date they had months before.



Geff Francis stars as DI Adrian Dumfries, a black detective. He is one of the detectives who despises Luke and believes that he is an inept detective. But DI Adrian Dumfries is also known to make frequent mistakes in cases he handles.



Tim Woodward plays the hardass DCI Sebastian Turner.





Series 1, Episode 1: Critical Path

When a 16-year-old girl disappears from her home, leaving a blood-spattered bedroom behind, Susan and Luke start trying to track down the missing teenager,

hoping that she may still be alive. Meanwhile, the mysterious death of a City trader who is shot in the neck with an arrow proves a tough case to crack.

Series 1, Episode 2: Under the Skin

When an unearthed skull opens a murder investigation, Stone orders a facial reconstruction of the skull and the photographs go to press, prompting a woman

to come forward claiming that the face in the photo belongs to a man who raped and strangled her sister several years earlier. When Dumfries informs them that a different man was convicted of that murder, Stone and Alembic dig further and unearth a web of lies surrounding the previous investigation.
