You Can Choose Your Friends is a brand new 90-minute comedy-drama, which re-unites TV favourites Anton Rogers and Julia Mckenzie two decades after they starred together in Fresh Fields and French Fields.



Written by critically acclaimed comedian Richard Herring, this story sees devoted couple Ken (Rogers) and Margaret (McKenzie) Snell celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary with their dysfunctional family.



As three generations of Snells gather for the big day, sibling rivalry and marital discord threaten to wreck the whole day. The family just have to hope that their good-natured bickering and genuine affection for each other can see them through.



Ian (Herring), Ken and Margaret's youngest son, uses the occasion to introduce to the family new girlfriend Chloe (Sarah-Jane Potts) who they all hope might be 'the one'.



His older brother Simon (Robert Daws) is battling to save his marriage with the icy Amanda (Rebecca Front), while dependable middle-child Jane (Claire Skinner) is getting no help from her Jack-the-Lad husband Pete (Gordon Kennedy) looking after their boisterous kids.



Closely blending humour with tension, You Can Choose Your Friends explores the light and dark of domestic life in a primetime ITV1 slot.
