Over a period of six years in the 1980s and early 1990s Jimmie MacGregor walked the highlands and islands of Scotland.

Jimmie MacGregor, also well-known for his folk singing and radio broadcasting, made a series of TV programmes of those walks:



· West Highland Way (1986)

· Speyside Way (1987)

· Footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie (1988)

· On the Outer Edge (1989)

· Along the Southern Upland Way (1990)

· Across Scotland (1991)

I’ve only got and will upload the first 2 parts of the Southern Upland Way and the last 2 parts of Across Scotland.

They are old videorecordings, so don’t expect great quality.

But as far as I can tell, you can’t find them anywhere else. And they can be watched as separate walks.

This series features one of the most beautiful walks in the British Isles, the walk from Montrose to Ardnamurchan.

A distance of 370 kilometres.

Along the way the route goes across Sheil Water, along by Loch Rannock and across the breadth of Rannoch Moor.

As well as through Glen Nevis.

There is a book published to accompany the four 30-minute programmes on BBC television.
