Aux confins de la jungle africaine, un énorme crocodile mangeur d'hommes menace constamment la vie des tribus locales. En apprenant son existence, une équipe de reporters américains décide d'aller filmer cette terrifiante créature, et de la capturer vivante. Mais le producteur Tim Freeman, le caméraman Steven Johnson et leur équipe n'ont aucune idée de ce à quoi ils s'attaquent... Au coeur d'un pays ravagé par la guerre civile, le saurien s'est habitué au goût de la chair humaine, et il est devenu à présent un tueur incroyablement rusé. Traqués à la fois par les hommes et par l'animal, bien déterminés à les avoir, Tim et son équipe s'engagent dans une aventure beaucoup plus dangereuse qu'ils ne le pensaient...
