Frank Martin hat sich endgültig von seinem aufreibenden Job als Kurierfahrer verabschiedet, lukrative Angebote schlägt er vehement aus. Er lebt ein wirklich friedliches und beschauliches Leben an der französischen Riviera, bisja bis ein Auto in sein Haus fährt und Frank sich plötzlich mit einem neuen Auftrag konfrontiert sieht, den er nicht ablehnen kann. Jonas Johnson, der im Auftrag für die Entsorgungsgesellschaft EcoCorp arbeitet, will, dass Frank für ihn die schöne Valentina, Tochter des ukrainischen Umweltministers Leonid Vasilev, von Marseille nach Odessa befördert. Valentina wurde von Johnson entführt, um den Umweltminister zu zwingen, große Mengen an Giftmüll in der Ukraine zu entsorgen.
Und Johnson hat dafür gesorgt, dass Frank den Auftrag wunschgem ausführt, denn er und Valentina wurden mit elektronischen Armbändern ausgestattet, die explodieren, sollten sie sich mehr als 20 Meter vom Auto entfernen. Frank wäre natürlich nicht Frank, wenn er nicht alles versuchen würde, heil aus dieser misslichen Lage herauszukommen. Und so beginnt ein nervenaufreibendes Katz-und-Maus-Spiel quer durch Europa, wobei Frank nicht nur eine Bombe am Handgelenk, sondern auch noch Valentina am Hals hat .
