Als er in der High School-Zeit ins Eis eines gefrorenen Flusses einbricht, entdeckt der


unscheinbare David Rice (Hayden Christensen), daß er offenbar teleportieren, sich also


an andere Orte versetzen kann. Von der Mutter verlassen, mit einem maroden Vater unzufrieden,


nutzt er bald sein Talent, um unerkannt Banktresore auszuräumen und sich seine Wünsche rund


um die Welt zu erfüllen.


Doch eines Tages taucht bei ihm der geheimnisvolle Roland (Samuel Jackson) auf, der Anführer


einer Geheimorganisation, die 'Paladine' heißt und sogenannte 'Jumper' jagt und tötet.


Von nun an sind David und seine Jugendliebe Millie auf der Flucht vor den Häschern,


nur widerwillig unterstützt von Griffin (Jamie Bell), einem anderen Jumper, der David


aufgestöbert hat....
