Sinopsis: Remake del clásico de ciencia-ficción dirigido por Robert Wise en 1971, y basado en una novela de Michael Crichton. La historia se inicia cuando un satélite de EE.UU. que cae accidente en tierras cercanas a un pequeño pueblo de Utah, desencadena una plaga mortal que mata a casi todo el mundo con excepción de dos sobrevivientes -un anciano y un niño-, que podrían aportar pistas para inmunizar a la población. Mientras los militares intentan poner en cuarentena a la zona, un equipo de científicos muy especializados se reunen para encontrar una cura, y así intentar detener la propagación del agente patógeno extranjero, cuyo nombre en código es Andrómeda.
