Please read the following carefully before you download the torrent.  This is an NTSC video conversion of the documentary by the same name.  The original xvid CANAL source had some minor flaws.   The most obvious is the poor de-interlacing job.   Notice the horizontal black lines through otherwise uniform areas with fast motion.  They generally last a fraction of a second then disappear.  The video will also seems to be jerky when the camera is panning instead of smooth.  There are no subtitles.

I think everyone in the USA (other than the very wealthy) know that our healthcare system is in a crisis state.  The most obvious problem is the fact that health care costs at increasing at incredible rates at the same time that benefits are reduced.  The only question is how to make the system functional again.  Mr. Moore simply wants to show how dysfunctional the system is for those who don't have unlimited funds for healthcare.  After viewing the film, I came away with a desire to move to Canada.  Geez, even Cuba has a system nearly equal to ours, and the peeps don't pay directly at all.  How is that?

The video is 16:9 progressive VCD (352x240p, VBR).  This allows very low MPEG-2 video bitrate (900kbps), which keeps the file size small without losing all that much detail.  It looks about the same as a VHS tape.  I am happy to say that the credits at the end of the movie are included.  I prefer to see the credits especially with a good sound track.

The audio (stereo) source was pretty good.  We encoded it directly in DD2.0.

The movie should play immediately after inserting your properly burned DVD-R.  I advise using Nero Buring ROM ->DVD Video->NEW.  Then drag the entire VIDEO_TS folder into the window.

Screenshots will look similar to the xvid release with some loss of detail.  Use VLC to view the sample first on your computer if you want to test the product.  You may need to have the aspect ratio fixed at 16:9.  In the sample, a wealthy Canadian chats with Mr. Moore over a round of golf about how important their healthcare system is for all Canadians. To download only the sample, when using uTorrent, inside the "add new torrent" window (before you save) make sure only the file titled "sicko.dvdx.sample.mpg" is checked.

One other very important thing: Everyone I strongly advise you download and install PEERGUARDIAN to safeguard your IP from the "authorities". It also keeps your download from getting scammed by them. If you are getting bad blocks, they are the ones sending them. You only need to run it on your P2P machine.
