Madagaskar ist schick, aber irgendwann packt die vier New Yorker Zoobewohner doch das Heimweh. Löwe Alex (Jan Josef Liefers), Zebra Marty (Rick Kavanian), Giraffe Melman (Bastian Pastewka) und Nilpferd Gloria treibt die Sehnsucht ins vertraute Gehege in Big Apple. Dafür reparieren sie ein altes Flugzeugwrack, in das leider auch King Julien und sein Privatsekretär Maurice einsteigen. Doch es kommt zur Bruchlandung - mitten über der afrikanischen Steppe.
