Het gaat over het biggetje Wilbert dat door het meisje Fiona gered en verzorg wordt.Wilbert\'s andere vriendin is Charlotte A. Cavatica, een beeldschone grote grijze spin, die bij hem in de schuur woont. Als Wilbur in gevaar is en dreigt op de eettafel te eindigen, bedenkt Charlotte een heel slim plan dat ze met de hulp van de rat Templeton ten uitvoer brengt. Zou het ze lukken zijn leven te redden?
