Si parte dov'era finita la 2ª parte: dal 1955 il giovane e pimpante Marty torna nel West del 1885 per evitare la morte dell'amico-maestro. Incontra il suo trisnonno, passa indenne attraverso mille avventure e, salvato l'amico dalla morte, torna all'oggi. Girato contemporaneamente a Ritorno al futuro parte II, è il più fiacco dei 3 e conferma un'antica regola del cinema hollywoodiano: il western è un genere impermeabile alla parodia. PLOT (English)

Stranded in 1955, Marty McFly receives written word from his friend, Doctor Emmett Brown, as to where can be found the DeLorean time machine. However, an unfortunate discovery prompts Marty to go to his friend's aid. Using the time machine, Marty travels to the old west where his friend has run afoul of a gang of thugs and has fallen in love with a local schoolteacher.
