Sinopse:


Após ser atingida por um meteorito no dia de seu casamento, a californiana Susan Murphy cresce misteriosamente até a altura de 15 metros. Os militares logo entram em ação, e Susan é capturada e levada a uma instituição secreta do governo americano. Lá, ela recebe o nome de Ginórmica e é mantida presa com um grupo de monstros: o brilhante Dr. Barata, Ph.D.; o machão metade macaco, metade peixe Elo Perdido; o gelatinoso e indestrutível B.O.B.; e a larva de 106 metros Insetossauro. O confinamento, no entanto, é encurtado quando um misterioso robô alienígena aterrissa na Terra e começa a atacar os EUA. Em um momento de desespero, o presidente é convencido a recrutar a gangue de monstros para salvar o mundo da iminente destruição.
