Warcraft 3 1.11 - 1.23 version changer (for replays) torrent download

Switch between any RoC/FT version.  1.11 to 1.23.





First and foremost this is primarily for watching replays.  This is NOT the full version of Warcraft 3, just the relevent files needed to switch between versions.  Included is a .bat file which presents a menu to make the whole process as painless as possible.





Why's it so big?  Contained in it is every version of Warcraft 3 (Both RoC, and FT), including all maps from each version to ensure max compatibility.  The bulk of the size is from each versions War3Patch.mpq.  





This will allow you to watch any RoC/FT replay under the sun from version 1.11 (2003!) to present.  You probably can play the game with each version as well, but I can't guarantee, and don't see a point really.





This does NOT contain any league maps, that's up to you to find.  (sorry)

NOTE:


This is for the ENGLISH version of Warcraft III.  It SHOULD work on non 


English versions, but I haven't tested it.





NOTE2: 


If a new patch comes out and you're wanting to update, make sure you're on 


the second latest version before doing so.  (ie 1.23-> 1.24 NOT 1.13-> 1.24) 


You won't be able to update from older versions.








1. Ensure you have the latest version of Warcraft III. 





2. Extract RAR to your Warcraft III directory.  Refer to Screen.jpg





3. Create a shortcut to the .BAT and put it on your desktop.





4. Run desktop shortcut, select version, play.

-Tested on Windows XP





-I've tested a replay for every Warcraft III version from 1.11 up to 1.23 (current 


 as of this writing) to ensure it works.





-I've included a NOCD crack (thanks HeLLKiLLeR, Reloaded, Deviance) for each


 version, so no need for a CD with the versions it used to require. 


 (1.20 and under)





-This RAR does NOT include any league maps.  That's a beast of a task in and 


 of itself.  If you're wanting to watch a replay with a league map, the batch 


 will get you to the proper Warcraft III version. It will be up to you to 


 find the map.  Good luck.





-Man is this thing huge for a simple replay viewer.  It's the damn War3Patch.mpqs,


 combined they add up to nearly a gig. I should also probably work on reducing


 the amount of maps for each version since it is kind of redundant.  Some maps


 are played more than others, certain ones are changed in a patch, others arent.


 It could be argued you don't need them all for every patch, since for example 


 going from 1.15 to 1.16 doesn't change any maps, according to the patch notes.  


 But I don't trust whoever writes the patch notes, since they've been known to 


 leave out changes. And the way Blizzards patcher patches things left me no real 


 clues in Filemon. So I said fuck it, and threw it all in the stew.  Feel free to 


 modify it. :-)





-You should be able to actually play the versions, but I'm not sure.  I don't see


 why you would unless it was for simply historical reasons.  The primary reason I


 created this was so I could watch just about every (1.11+) replay under the sun.





-It is beautiful being able to see MadFrog at the top of his game again, and seeing 


 classics like apm70maphacks (Grubby) play against apm70. Remember a real old classic?


 Want to watch it? Chances are you can now.  I've resurrected the dead.
