In einer Scharnierregion zwischen Europa und Asien liegt ein abgeschiedenes Dorf. Die seit ihrer Kindheit füreinander bestimmten Aya (Kristyna Mlrova) und Temelko (Maximilian Mauff) sollen bald zu einem Paar werden. Nach alter Sitte muss die erste Liebesnacht mit einem gemeinsamen Bad begonnen werden. Dann jedoch versiegt der Brunnen und weil die Männer des Dorfes ihn nicht richten wollen, verweigern die Frauen ihnen den Sex. Auch Aya schließt sich dem Bann an.





Zauberhaft-poetisch ging es bereits in Veit Helmers Debüt "Tuvalu" zu und zu dieser Stärke findet er mit Kusturica-Drehbuchautor Gordan Mihic ("Schwarze Katze, weißer Kater&quot zurück: Eine liebenswerte, überbordende Burleske, die Märchen und Magie zur Liebesgeschichte vereint.
