Am 13. Juli 1966 brach er in ein Schwesternwohnheim in Chicago ein. Er fand neun junge Frauen, nur eine konnte sich verstecken. Die acht anderen brachte er auf bestialische Art und Weise um  Warum? Es machte ihm Spaß. Und später sagte es über das Schicksal der acht: "Es war wohl nicht ihre Nacht."
