Die Streifenhoernchen Alvin, Simon und Theodore leben gemeinsam in einem Baum,
doch zur Weihnachtszeit wird ihr Heim gefaellt. Durch Zufall geraten sie zu dem
bisher erfolglosen Musikproduzenten Dave (Jason Lee). Dieser nimmt die nervigen
Nager bei sich auf und uebernimmt somit die Elternrolle doch auch das
musikalische Talent seiner quasselnden Schuetzlinge erkennt Dave schnell. Mit
ihren hohen Gesangsstimmen stuermen die drei schon bald die Charts und
