La seconda stagione di Heroes, coincidente con il secondo volume del serial, Generazioni, è stata trasmessa negli USA dalla NBC a partire dal 24 settembre 2007. Originariamente composta da 24 puntate, la seconda stagione si è chiusa anticipatamente dopo solo 11 puntate il 3 dicembre 2007 a causa di uno sciopero degli sceneggiatori di Hollywood.In Italia, la seconda stagione è stata trasmessa in prima visione assoluta, contrariamente alla precedente, dal 18 aprile 2008 al 16 maggio 2008, ogni venerdì alle ore 21:00, su Steel di Premium Gallery.In chiaro, la seconda stagione è stata trasmessa dal 7 settembre 2008 al 9 novembre 2008, ogni domenica in seconda serata, su Italia 1.Nella versione trasmessa in prima TV in Italia da Steel (canale di Mediaset Premium) appaiono una grande quantità di tagli rispetto alla versione originale. Sono tutti tagli molto brevi a scene che non contengono volgarità e/o scene di sesso. Non modificando ovviamente la trama tolgono comunque in alcuni casi dialoghi interessanti.
