Valiant, een duifje met een flinke dosis vaderlandsliefde, meldt zich tijdens de oorlog an bij de Koninklijke Britse Duivenbrigade. Hij wil geheime berichten het kanaal overvliegen en zo de held van het leger worden, maar iedereen lacht hem uit omdat hij zo klein is. Hij wordt dan ook meteen ingedeeld bij peleton F, de sukkels en de kneusjes van de brigade. Wanneer alle andere peletons uitgeschakeld zijn door de vijand, krijgen Valiant en z'n vriendjes hun eerste belangrijke opdracht.
