Sinopse:
Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) era apenas um motociclista dublê adolescente quando vendeu sua alma para o diabo (Peter Fonda). Anos depois, Johnny é um famoso motoqueiro radical durante o dia, mas à noite, se transforma no Motoqueiro Fantasma, o lendário personagem da Marvel Comics. Como justiceiro do diabo, ele é encarregado de caçar almas maldosas na Terra e levá-las ao inferno. Mas quando o destino resolve lhe pregar uma peça trazendo o seu grande amor (Eva Mendes) de volta à sua vida, Johnny percebe que pode ter uma segunda chance de ser feliz - se vencer o diabo e ganhar sua alma de volta. Para conseguir o que deseja, ele terá que derrotar Coração Negro (Wes Bentley), o rebelde e perverso filho do demônio, cujo plano de assumir o reinado de seu pai trará o inferno à Terra - a não ser que o Motoqueiro Fantasma possa impedí-lo.
