Bolt é la star di una serie tv insieme alla sua padroncina Penny. Lui é un adorabile cagnolino che interpreta un super-cane, ma é convinto che tutto quello che succede nel set, corrisponda alla realtà; quando si ritrova sulla strada alla ricerca della sua padroncina, che crede essere stata rapita, iniizierà un avventuroso viaggio da Los Angeles a New York, in compagnia di una gatta e un criceto, si renderà conto che quello che lo rende speciale non sono i super-poteri...
