Following nearly a decade's hiatus, Baker returns to the recording studio with 2004's MY EVERYTHING, and, happily, very little has changed. She hasn't tinkered one bit with the sound that made her a beloved singer, emerging with a record both comforting and enrapturing. "You're My Everything" contains lyrics straight out of a WWII-era torch song, and a vibe that would have fit snugly on one of her first few outings. Although backed by a driving saxophone on the energetic gospel/blues number "I Can't Sleep," Baker fills much of MY EVERYTHING with sweet love songs. She brings it all together on the closing track, "Men in My Life," a tribute to her husband and two young boys.

Depois de ficar quase de uma década sem gravar, a divina Anita Baker retorna ao estúdio de gravação com My Everything 2004's (MEU TUDO), e, feliz, muito pouco mudou. Não alterou nem um pouquinho o som que lhe fez uma cantora adorada, emergindo com um registro gostoso de ouvir. Embora venha trazendo um show de saxophone "carregado" num energético blues/gospel na faixa "I Can't Sleep", Baker enche muito de My Everything com canções doces de amor. E num fechamento carinhoso, com “Men in My Life”, faz um tributo a seu marido e dois jovens filhos.
