The English audio stream is also copied without any processing whatsoever, using the highest quality stream on the DVD. All other video, audio and subtitle information was ignored and is not included.





The purpose for this format is twofold:





(1) It creates a reference point for anyone who wants to convert it to another format so that they know they are starting with the highest quality, virginal and untouched MPEG video and English audio.





(2) With the proliferation of large hard drives, many people prefer to simply store a DVD in its highest quality state without any extraneous menus, subtitles or non-English audio streams.
