rund um die belgische Stadt Bastogne. Es mangelt ihnen an
Maennern, Nahrung und Munition, um die Frontlinie gegen
die unaufhaltsam vorrueckenden Deutschen halten zu koennen.
Sanitaeter Eugene Roe stibitzt Morphium und Medikamente,
um die zahllosen Verwundungen und Krankheiten der Maenner
behandeln zu koennen. Wegen der unerbittlichen Kaelte L O T
leiden viele der Soldaten zusaetzlich an Fussbrand. Auf
der Suche nach Medikamenten kommt er zu einem
Truppenverbandplatz in der Umgebung des von den Deutschen
belagerten Bastogne.
