Seit Jahren tobt in Uddiyana ein Bürgerkrieg. Selbst die Friedenstruppen der Vereinten Nationen können
die Situation nicht unter Kontrolle bringen. Erst ein zufällig aufgenommenes Foto, das zeigt, wie
Zivilisten gemeinsam mit Soldaten eine improvisierte UN-Flagge hissen, verbreitet durch seine Symbolkraft
die Hoffnung auf Frieden. Dann jedoch wird die Fahne von Extremisten gestohlen, die den anstehenden
Waffenstillstand verhindern wollen. Daraufhin wird das Sondereinsatzkommando SDC beauftragt, die Flagge
zu finden und mit Hilfe von HAVWCs, modernen Kampfrobotern, zurückzuholen. Die Journalistin
Saeko Shirasu, die bereits das symbolträchtige Foto des Friedensbanners schoss, soll die Mission
begleiten und dokumentieren. Doch die Zeit wird knapp, denn aufgeheizt durch die Extremisten droht die
Stimmung in der Bevölkerung zu kippen
