Ob Online-Ranking-System, Bossgegner-Aufmarsch oder "Off-Limit"-Modus mit übermächtigen Superwaffen: Spieler bezwingen die unwirtliche Umgebung samt ihrer aggressiven Bewohner Freunde krachender Mehrspieler-Action fühlen sich in den verschiedenen Multiplayer-Varianten zu Hause und wählen ebenfalls aus einer Vielzahl an neuen Maps, Charakteren, Waffen und Spielmodi. So werden die Karten der Schnee-Piraten beispielsweise neu gemischt, wenn Shooter-Vetreanen im "Akrid Hunting"-Modus den Planeten E.D.N. III als Alien-Kreatur durchstreifen. Erstmalig treten Lost Planet-Krieger plattformübergreifend gegeneinander an, so dass Xbox 360-Gamer sich direkte Duelle mit PC-Spielern liefern.
